650 metres above sea level, in the Upper Drau Valley region lies this historic gem, which was mentioned for the first time in official documents in 1166. Greifenburg lies at the heart of a magnificent landscape, not far from the Weissensee Lake.
This area offers countless leisure and sporting activities both in the summer and winter, such as the annual "Alternatieve Elfstedentocht" (Alternative 11-City Race) on the frozen Lake Weissensee or the nearby world-famous ski resorts of the Lienz Dolomites. The castle affords a view of the Reisskofel Mountain and the Kreuzeck group towards the Lienz Dolomites.
This impressive treasure features 18 self-contained flats (ranging from 65 sqm to 130 sqm). The historically listed castle has been adapted little by little to meet today's standards. A lift connects all of the building's floors, which feature historic details such as cosy tiled stoves.
All required permits and blueprints are available for expanding the building for use as a hotel with 60 beds.
